Over the past century the African Penguin has survived habitat destruction, marine pollution, egg looting, and depleted fish stocks; all of which have taken their toll. Today, a lack of food owing to migrating fish stocks threatens its survival once more.
While they’ve proven to be a resilient bunch, they’re not able to adapt fast enough to a rapidly changing environment. Quite simply, they need all the help they can get if their species is to make a recovery.
By creating new colonies further east, we hope to bolster their numbers and safeguard our beloved penguin against any further declines.
